Welcome Center Customer Service Representative - PM Shift

Reports to: Membership/Marketing Director

Starting Wage:$9 / hour  Part Time

Job Description: Under the supervision of the Membership/Marketing Director, the Welcome Center Staff will provide enthusiastic, courteous, and timely service to all persons using the YMCA facility upon opening. The Welcome Center Staff will respond to member and guest needs, promote memberships and programs and maintain cleanliness and organization of the lobby area. Basic computer and secretarial skills are a must. Any candidate will need to be self motivated and independent. An exceptional understanding of member service needs is necessary to be successful in this position. Hours: Monday - Friday: 4pm-8pm (usually 1 night a week) Saturdays: 7am-1pm or 12pm-6pm (usually 1 Saturday a month) Part Time Hours include evenings and weekends, not to exceed 29 hours.

Lifeguards

Do you love the water? Lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the safety of the patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies and enforcing pool rules. Put your skills to work at the Y!

School Age Child Care Coordinator

This position will lead a team of staff working together to offer quality education and care in a safe and nurturing environment. This person will provide a team atmosphere with the objective of helping children to learn, grow, and thrive. Ideal candidates will have a strong track record of childcare experience including the hiring, training, and motivating of staff, building relationships with children and parents, and adhering to state licensing requirements.

  • PT Position with possibility for FT
  • Reports to Jordan Polk, Program Director
  • Wage: $17/hour

Minimum Requirements:

  • A 2-year college degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
  • Registry level of 12 or higher is preferred.
  • If college degree is not in Early Childhood Education, 12 college credit hours must be in early education field. College transcripts must be provided.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid required within first 60 days of employment and kept current.

Camp Counselor

Join our team of Summer Camp Counselors and have the best summer ever! Make a difference in campers’ lives! This position will supervise and facilitate daily activities of a group of day campers. Camp activities follow weekly themes and daily activities include opening ceremonies, theme-based activities, outdoor games, lunch, group swimming in family aquatic center, and afternoon activities. Staff and campers will take weekly field trips on Fridays to area venues. Training provided for camp including behavior management, program planning, and camp procedures. Must commit to being a positive role model to all campers in your care. Camp runs May 30 – September 1, Monday – Friday from 6:30am-5:45pm

Pay

  • $12.00/hour up to 40 hrs per week.
  • Flexible Hours
  • YMCA membership for duration of Summer Camp

Qualifications

  • Minimum 18 years of age with High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in working with children (camp, coaching, teaching, babysitting, etc) strongly preferred but not required
  • Must have CPR/First Aid/CPR – Will train if needed
  • Abusive Head Trauma/Shaken Baby Syndrome Training – Will provide if needed

Essential Functions

  • Be always a positive role model for all campers.
  • Supervise and engage with campers in your group, helping them have a safe and enjoyable experience.
  • Facilitate scheduled camp program areas in a safe and enjoyable way. Assist campers with skill-building throughout their summer.
  • Maintain a clean camp environment, including outdoor space, classroom, program areas and grounds.
  • Uphold YMCA character values (caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility) and good sportsmanship in the camp culture.
  • Promptly report incidents, accidents, and facility issues to Directors.
  • Provide a daily report on your group to the Day Camp Director.
  • Supervise camp group and communicate with Directors.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance at all times. Wear a clean Staff Shirt on Friday for Field Trips.
  • Arrive at work on time and prepared for the day. Ensure your group is on time for scheduled activities.
  • Complete duties as assigned by your supervisor or Camp Director as needed to ensure a safe and enjoyable camp experience for all participants.
  • Apply disciplinary needs in a manner appropriate with YMCA standards. There is a zero-tolerance policy for bullying from staff OR campers.

Child Care Teacher - School Age

We are looking for School Age Child Care Teachers to join our team in creating a positive and fun program for kids to thrive in before and after school hours.

  • Current State of Wisconsin mandated qualification
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification or within 30 days of hire
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a minimum of 80 hours of Early Childhood classes OR completed at least 3 credits in Elementary Education, or Child Guidance, or Child Development
  • Minimum of 80 days experience working in a childcare/school setting
  • Must meet all requirements and be familiar with state licensing guidelines and requirements

Starting Wage: $15/hour based on experience
Hours per week: Part-time hourly 
Work Days: Shifts availabe Monday though Friday 6:30am - start of school and end of school to 5:45pm; plus school day's off

Assistant Childcare Teacher (Part time or Full time)

Looking for a fun, dedicated individual to join our Licensed Childcare Center. The Childcare Assistant Teacher aids in the responsibility for the education, health, welfare, and safety of our children.

Wage Scale: $9.25 to $15.00 based on experience and education
Hours per week: Part-time hourly (Up to 29 hours/week)

Child Care Center is open from 6:00AM - 6:00PM
Work Days: Varies Monday - Friday

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer - Youth Sports and Teachers

The Y is always looking for individuals to help coach, referee and teach classes for our different evening youth recreational programs. Candidates should be enthusiastic, motivating, and be able to relate well to children ages 1-12 years. Some knowledge and experience playing organized sports is preferred (soccer, basketball, baseball, flag football, volleyball and more!). Volunteer and service hours opportunities available!
