The Y in the News!
The New York Times features an article about the Y's first National Campaign that debuts today (January 25th)!
"The Y embarks on it's first National Advertising Campaign!
The Y.M.C.A. — or the Y as it is now known — has existed for more than 160 years and has never felt the need to advertise. After all, even without the help of the ubiquitous song from the Village People, most people know what the Y is. Or they think they do. Concern that the public has misconceptions about the Y’s mission and programs has spurred the nonprofit to undertake its first national advertising campaign."
As parents, we know it's hard to find time to workout. The Y offers a Child Watch program for children ages 6 weeks-7 years old. We also have Youth Wellness: The Loft program which is available for youths ages 8-16 years old, where kids can workout and have fun using a variety of equipment in our Loft area under supervision and guidence by our Wellness Staff.
The YMCA of Dodge County will follow the Beaver Dam Unified School District’s inclement weather closings. If the district cancels school due to inclement weather, all Y programming will be canceled as well. If the district releases students early due to inclement weather, all Y programs for the remainder of the day will be canceled. If the district has late start due to inclement weather, all Y programs will run as scheduled, however Child Watch is canceled. Classes not held for holidays or due to inclement weather are not refundable and do not qualify for a credit. Although classes and Child Watch are canceled, the building remains open.
