Youth Recreational Programs
The Y is the starting point for many youth to learn about becoming and staying active, and developing healthy habits they'll carry with them throughout their lives. And benefits are far greater that just physical health. Whether it's gaining the confidence that comes from learning to swim or building the positive relationships that lead to good sportsmanship and teamwork, participating in sports at the Y is about building the whole child, from inside out.
The Y offers a variety of programs throughout the year! Flag Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, T-Ball and more!
Youth Competitive Leagues
When kids play sports they get more than just exercise. Besides being physically healthier, they have higher self esteem and a healthier body image. The benefits of playing sports go far beyond the physical. Kids who play perform better in school, develop better interpersonal skills, and work better in groups. They are more resilient against life’s challenges and less likely to ever abuse drugs or alcohol.
The Y Youth Sports program maximizes the positive effects of playing sports by emphasizing healthy competition and promoting teamwork along with individual development. The Y focuses on the life lessons to be learned from sports and coaches strive to instill a positive self-image in each player. Playing time is guaranteed for everyone, and you get your choice of teammates and practice time. Of course, family involvement is always welcomed and encouraged.
