Youth Recreational Programs
The Y is the starting point for many youth to learn about becoming and staying active, and developing healthy habits they'll carry with them throughout their lives. And benefits are far greater that just physical health. Whether it's gaining the confidence that comes from learning to swim or building the positive relationships that lead to good sportsmanship and teamwork, participating in sports at the Y is about building the whole child, from inside out.
Our T-ball program is a great introduction to the sport of baseball. For safety we play with soft baseballs and foam bats, while making sure that each child plays a variety of field positions, bats every inning and every hit turns into a run around the bases! The goal of our coaches is build self-confidence by helping kids become better players and teammates. Players should bring their own glove.
Alphabet Soup (Cancelled)
Children will explore their letters, numbers, colors and shapes using music, dance, books and other fun hands-on and interactive games! A great class to help your preschooler prepare for 4 year old or 5 year old kindergarten.
Fairy Tale Dance (Cancelled)
Boys and girls put on your favorite costume and join us in dance! We invite all preschool aged children to wear a princess, superhero, fairy or any other kids costume and come prepared to move. Fun movement activites will encourage your little ones to keep the energy flowing while developing beginner level motor skills.
Accomplishments come in many ways in this beginning floor exercise gymnastics class. Your child will learn more about how their body can move and have fun while doing it! Listening to their teacher, being respectful of others and trying new things are primary skills in this class as the children tumble their way to greater flexibility and control of their bodies. Appropriate for tikes who have not taken any organized class before.
Sporties for Shorties
Hands-on exploration of a variety of sports will engage your preschooler as they are introduced to different games and learn the fundamentals of athletics. Your child will be beaming with confidence as they master the tot-size games.
Everything in this class is geared towards developing excitement for the game of soccer! Your child will be challenged and encouraged as they practice kicking and running with equipment just the right size for them.
This program is designed to teach young baseball players the fundamentals of the game, and for those who plan on entering coach-pitch baseball. Participants will learn how to catch, throw, and bat in a team atmosphere. Have fun, meet new friends, and play in a non-competitive environment. Players need to bring their own glove.
Do It All Sports
Get in the game! Improve your coordination and agility, learn a variety of sports and games whole having fun and meeting new friends. New sports and games will be introduced each class!
